    CEISMC's Alba Gutierrez wins Georgia Institute of Technology's 2016 Faculty & Staff Award for Service to the Community

    Every spring, Georgia Tech recognizes staff members who embody professional excellence. The Staff Awards highlight the accomplishments of employees who strive toward exemplary work ethic and those who improve and advance workplace culture. Alba Gutierrez has been named the 2016 winner of The Service to the Community Award.

    Georgia Tech’s Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC) as part of the GoSTEM program has facilitated and mentored a group of students at Meadowcreek High School for participation in the FIRST Robotics Competition(FRC). Meadowcreek High School’s FIRST Robotics team, “The RoboMustangs”, competed in the Georgia FIRST District qualifier tournaments.

    The 4th Annual Latino College and STEM Fair 2016

    The 4th Annual Latino College and STEM Fair was held at the Georgia Tech Student Center on March 19th, 2016 as part of the Atlanta Science Festival, a week-long celebration hosting 100 individual STEM-related events throughout the city. The Fair, hosted by Georgia Tech’s GoSTEM program and the University of Georgia’s LISELL-B program offered attendees accessible information regarding the importance of higher education and STEM careers.

    Latino STEM Education Day at Meadowcreek High School

    On Saturday October 24th, 2015, GoSTEM hosted for the 4th time the Latino STEM Education Day event at Meadowcreek High School.
