GoSTEM is committed to provide enrichment activities for students in our partner high and middle schools throughout the summer. As part of our program we offer summer camp opportunities for Hispanic students at Meadowcreek High School, as well as Radloff and Lilburn Middle Schools. Hispanic middle school students are able to apply for scholarships each year to participate in CEISMC’s Summer Camps at Georgia Tech. The CEISMC Summer Programs for Enrichment and Accelerated Knowledge in STEM (PEAKS) are one- to two-week long educational programs that offer students unique educational experiences in STEM that are typically not included in standard K-12 curricula in most schools.

In addition, teachers from Meadowcreek High School are invited to apply to the Georgia Intern Fellowship for Teachers (GIFT) Program each summer. The GIFT program is a paid summer professional development fellowship for middle and high school educators from throughout the state of Georgia. GIFT is managed through CEISMC and strives to connect classroom instruction with real-world applications in the content area in which program participants teach. Through the program, educators are either placed in a research fellowship or an industry internship with Georgia Tech faculty or professional mentors outside of Georgia Tech (at other universities or industries). The GIFT program also has a unique component in that teachers develop a lesson plan that they can use once they return to their classrooms.
As part of this experience, teachers will be invited to select a group of two or three students to also participate with them in the program. Students are selected based on their interest and their ability to commit their time and energy for the duration of the program. During the summer, both students and teachers will work on designing a research project using the knowledge they have acquired throughout their internship experience. After the summer experience, students are encouraged to submit their work to science fairs and local and national competitions.

PUSH Summer Program
Developed by GoSTEM, the Program Pursuing Urban Sustainability at Home (PUSH) is a two-week STEM inspired summer program that focuses on exposing high school students to issues surrounding the need for urban sustainability and how this environmental and social concern impacts their local communities. The program features interactions with professionals currently working in the field, hands-on STEM experiments that connect sustainability to the everyday experiences, and field trips that demonstrate how individuals can be sustainable in their everyday lives. The two-week program culminates with a Sustainability Symposium to showcase the solutions students have developed to address problems in their communities.
Fun Summer of Service
The GoSTEM’s Fun Summer of Service is a one-week program that offers high school students the unique opportunity to earn community service hours during the summer months and have fun doing so. Students who are a part of the GoSTEM’s Pathways to College Program are eligible to apply.
